How BetaMarket markets without a titleholder startup are distributed and resolved.
This policy governs the prediction markets that BetaMarket lists on events in the technology and financial ecosystem in which no titleholder startup participates. It defines how the pool of those markets is distributed, where the share that normally goes to a startup is directed, how a startup can join an already open market, and how these markets are resolved.
It complements the Terms of Service, the Curation Policy and the Pricing & Money Movement Policy. Markets that have a titleholder startup from the start continue to be governed by those documents, unchanged.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Ecosystem Market | A market on a verifiable third-party event (companies, technologies, regulators or institutions) in which no titleholder startup listed on BetaMarket participates. |
| Market with a Titleholder Startup | A market listed by a startup that has met the Curation Policy. It is governed by the Terms of Service and the Curation Policy. |
| Ecosystem Allocation | The 20% of the pool that, in a Market with a Titleholder Startup, would correspond to the startup. |
| AIMF Reserve | BetaMarket's accounting record, separate from the rest of its income, where the Ecosystem Allocation is held. |
| AIMF | Artificial Intelligence Monetary Fund. |
| Integrity Fund | A segregated fund defined in the Curation Policy, which is not BetaMarket income. |
An Ecosystem Market must meet all of these conditions:
| Condition |
|---|
| It is binary (Yes or No) and its question leaves no room for ambiguity. |
| It has a defined closing date and resolution date. |
| It has a public source verifiable by third parties, set before the market opens. |
The following markets are not listed:
| Not listed |
|---|
| Markets on metrics that predictors themselves can materially influence, such as figures that can be inflated through their own transactions. |
| Markets on the trading price of stocks or tokens. |
| Markets on events that involve harm to people. |
| Markets in which BetaMarket, Platia Capital or its affiliates have a direct interest in the outcome. Those cases are treated as Markets with an affiliated Titleholder Startup, under their own rules. |
| Markets whose resolution requires private third-party data. |
| Recipient | % | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Winning predictors | 50% | Split among winners in proportion to what each one predicted. |
| BetaMarket (fee) | 20% | The platform's standard fee. |
| Ecosystem Allocation | 20% | Retained by BetaMarket under this policy and recorded in the AIMF Reserve (section 6). |
| Predictor credit | 5% | For those who were not right. Applied to their next prediction, per the Terms of Service. |
| Predictor savings | 5% | For those who were not right. Allocated to their savings, per the Pricing & Money Movement Policy. |
Payments to predictors do not change depending on whether a startup is present. Each predictor's result depends on the composition of the pool at close and may be higher or lower than the amount they predicted.
6.1 BetaMarket retains the Ecosystem Allocation under this policy. The funds are received in BetaMarket's business account and are identified in its accounting as the AIMF Reserve, separate from other income.
6.2 The AIMF Reserve is not used for operating expenses, fees or team compensation.
6.3 The AIMF Reserve is destined for the Artificial Intelligence Monetary Fund, to create and develop startups focused on the categories that BetaMarket markets measure.
6.4 Until the AIMF is legally constituted and operational, the AIMF Reserve is kept untransferred and BetaMarket does not use it. The transfer takes place once the AIMF is constituted.
6.5 The AIMF may invest or donate the resources it receives. Investment in startups is prioritized. Donation applies only when no viable investment exists and through a documented AIMF decision.
6.6 BetaMarket and the AIMF will publish calls for founders at pvb.platiacapital.com and co-fundadortech.platiacapital.com. The selection criterion evaluates the founder — their track record, capability and commitment — and not their revenue.
6.7 BetaMarket will publish an annual report with the income received into the AIMF Reserve, the transfers to the AIMF and the use of those resources.
7.1 A startup may request to become the titleholder of an open Ecosystem Market, up to its closing date. After closing, no requests are accepted and the Ecosystem Allocation follows the destination in section 6.
7.2 To be approved, the startup must: (a) meet Level 0 of the Curation Policy; (b) sign the authorization to access the data that prove its progress; (c) declare its own milestones, with a date and verifiable evidence; (d) have activity related to the market's topic; and (e) not be, or control, the resolution source.
7.3 Approval does not change the question, the source, the dates or the payments to predictors. The market page then shows the titleholder startup and its tranche schedule.
7.4 The Ecosystem Allocation of that market is released to the startup in up to three tranches, each tied to a dated milestone. The split between tranches is set in writing when the request is approved and cannot be changed afterwards. The last milestone cannot be set more than 12 months after approval.
7.5 To release each tranche, the startup submits its evidence within 10 calendar days after the milestone date. BetaMarket decides in writing and in binary fashion: the tranche is released or it is not.
7.6 Tranches that are not released for lack of verified progress, or because of false information, are directed to the Integrity Fund, as in the original policy. False information also results in the permanent removal of the startup and a report to the competent authorities.
7.7 While a request is under review or approved, the Ecosystem Allocation of that market is not transferred to the AIMF.
A market listed from its opening by a curated startup is governed by the Terms of Service and the Curation Policy: the startup's 20% is delivered only if, on the resolution date, it shows verified progress; otherwise it goes to the Integrity Fund. This policy does not change that rule.
9.1 The resolution source is public and verifiable by third parties, and is set before the market opens. A primary source is preferred: an official statement, a regulatory filing or a publication by the entity itself. If no primary source exists, at least two independent, recognized media outlets are required.
9.2 The resolution criteria are published before the market opens and are not changed. Only an evident material error is corrected, with public notice before closing.
9.3 Closing and resolution are separate events. Closing is automatic at 23:59:59 Honduras time (UTC−6) on the closing date. Resolution is an act of a human administrator.
9.4 BetaMarket may use artificial intelligence to monitor the source and draft a resolution proposal with its evidence. Artificial intelligence never resolves a market or moves funds. The administrator who resolves records the link or evidence of the source.
9.5 BetaMarket resolves within 7 calendar days after the scheduled resolution date. If that is not possible, it publishes a notice with the reason.
9.6 If the outcome is ambiguous or the source ceases to exist, the market is voided and each predictor is returned 100% of the amount they predicted. In that case no Ecosystem Allocation is generated.
9.7 Anyone may report a resolution error through the Integrity Reports channel within the following 5 calendar days. If a material error is confirmed, BetaMarket corrects the resolution and the payments.
| Rule |
|---|
| The team, directors and affiliates of BetaMarket and Platia Capital may not predict in Ecosystem Markets. |
| No predictor may use non-public information obtained through a relationship with the entity the market is about. |
| Platia News AI may report on the topics of these markets. Its content is limited to verifiable facts and is not published for the purpose of influencing the resolution. |
| BetaMarket may void positions and suspend accounts that attempt to manipulate the source or the outcome. |
The name of a company or institution is used only to identify the market's event. It implies no affiliation, endorsement or relationship with BetaMarket. If a third party points out a factual error with verifiable evidence, BetaMarket corrects it.
The page of each Ecosystem Market shows the following notice before anyone predicts:
